Often, it is not a lack of understanding of what has been learned that is the problem, but rather a lack of implementation. That is why my specialist coaching runs for 12 months, is based on my personal experience from years of working with doctors, and includes practical and actionable recommendations.
How do you know so much about medical science liaison?
I have been working in medical science liaison for 14 years: as an MSL, as an MSL team leader in Germany and for Europe, and in a global MSL excellence role. I know the role of MSL from a wide variety of perspectives, which brings with it experience and foresight.
What topics will you discuss with my team, and do I have a say in the matter?
In my specialist coaching sessions, I address the core topics of MSL work, such as approaching physicians, speaker briefings, and conference preparation. MSLs also have the opportunity to bring up their own topics that are currently highly relevant or difficult. If there are topics that are particularly relevant to the company, we are happy to integrate them.
What if my MSLs don't have any time for specialist coaching?
This is precisely when specialist coaching can provide valuable support in prioritizing and structuring the tasks of the MSL. Structure and clarity support the work of the MSL, especially in stressful times.
How do you guarantee that everything won't quickly revert to the old ways after a short-term success?
My specialist coaching lasts for 12 months, allowing sufficient time to identify and test new approaches and refine them further if necessary.
Isn't the HR department responsible for coaching?
In some companies, it is the responsibility of the human resources department to hire coaches. Since my specialist coaching for MSLs and MSL team leaders is so specific, it may well be that I am not yet listed there. Please feel free to put me in touch!
What if my MSL doesn't like you?
A certain degree of sympathy and trust is very important. If this cannot be established, we will find an individual solution.
We have a very specific topic and also special processes within the company. Will specialized coaching even work in this case?
Every company and every team is different, but the fundamentals of MSL work are comparable. If individual adjustments to your team/company are necessary, let’s talk about it!
Can I also be coached myself?
Absolutely! In some companies, my specialist coaching includes both the MSL and the MSL team leaders.
Can I also have individual members of my MSL team coached?
Yes, you can. In this case, it may be advisable to ensure that this is not perceived as a disadvantage or preferential treatment when communicating with the team.
